Here's the frustration every Tesla owner hits sooner or later: the car has a real web browser, but there's no copy-paste in it. A friend texts you a link, you find an article on your phone, you want a reservation page on the big screen — and your only option is retyping the whole URL on the touchscreen, one letter at a time, with no way to paste what you already have.
You don't need to type it at all. Push it from your phone, where the link already lives.
The fix, in 4 steps
1. Open the receiver page in your car.
While parked, open your Tesla's browser and go to pushtocar.com/car. The screen shows a QR code and a short pairing code.
2. Scan the QR code with your phone.
Point your phone camera at the code. Your phone opens a private sender page paired to your car — no app, no account, no Tesla login.
3. Paste the link on your phone and hit send.
Copy it from wherever it is — Messages, Safari, Chrome, YouTube, email — paste it into the sender page, and tap send.
4. Open it on the car screen.
Your Tesla shows a "new link received" card with a preview. Tap "Open link" and it loads in the car's browser.
That is the whole workaround: your phone does the copying, the QR code does the pairing, and the car never has to type or paste anything.
The same fix works for photos
The no-copy-paste problem is worse for photos — there is no way to get a picture from your phone onto the car screen at all. PushToCar's photo push covers that too: up to 6 photos at a time, compressed on your phone, deleted from the service the moment your car downloads them.
You can send a link to your Tesla browser or show photos on your Tesla screen with the same setup.
FAQ
Is this really free?
Yes — free for every driver, supported by donations.
Does it need my Tesla account?
No. No Tesla login, no app, no account of any kind. The QR code is the login, and it expires with your one-hour session.
Why not just bookmark pages ahead of time?
Bookmarks help for pages you knew you'd want in advance. They don't help for the link someone just sent you, or the article you found five minutes ago. Pushing covers exactly those cases.
Can I use it while driving?
No — set it up while parked. It's built for parked and charging moments.
Try it
Next time you're parked and about to retype a URL on the touchscreen, open pushtocar.com/car in your Tesla's browser and push the link from your phone instead.
